Our data table highlights gender and disability demographics as reported by UK medical schools

Would you like to check gender and disability demographics, as reported by UK medical schools to the General Medical Council (GMC)?

Our interactive table in this resource can help you compare the percentages of medical students declaring gender and disability demographics, from the latest per-school data set avaialble (2017-18).

This data is retrospective (see below our notes on data sources), so current and future percentages of gender and disability are subject to change from those reported here.

About this interactive table

By default, this table displays information about all UK medical schools. To focus only on medical schools of interest, you can filter by medical school names. To revert after applying any filter, and see all (unfiltered) results, use the 'Reset' button.

Notes on data sources

As part of its Medical School Annual Return (MSAR) reports, the General Medical Council has from time to time published spreadsheets with demographics data, on a per-medical-school basis.

Statistics here are based on latest of these per-medical-school demographics reports, specifically the spreadsheet entitled 'Numbers of students in UK medical schools and their demographic groups in 2017/2018' (xlsx format).

For more details about all sources of demographics data for UK medical schools, including aggregated demographics data across all UK medical schools, see our overview of reference data sets.
