Our interactive filters bring into focus just the information you need for your UK medical school applications

Keen to compare and analyse information on UK medical schools of particular interest to you?

Our website has many filtering options to help you focus on essentials you need to know, without distractions.

How filters work on interactive tables

Many tables and data charts on our website give you options to filter results interactively, so you can focus on exactly the information you need whilst hiding less relevant results.

As an example, the following screenshot illustrates how you could use the 'Filter by medical school names' option to focus on UK medical schools in London.

Screenshot: Example of filtering results by medical school names

As displayed above, the interactive table can be adjusted by setting the filter to 'London':

Once you activate the 'Apply' button, the system adjusts the interactive table based on your specified filter to display only data related to UK medical schools with 'London' in their full titles

If you are logged in with a free MedSchoolGenie account, the system continues to remember your specified filter whenever you return to this page

Whenever you use the 'Reset' button, the system again displays information for all UK medical schools

Tips on using interactive table filters

Feel free to experiment with filters, to adjust interactive tables for displaying ust the right information on your UK medical school applications.

Here are a couple tips:

Consider using more than one word, and the system (using OR logic) will display information related to any specified word

Consider using abbreviated versions of UK medical school names, and the system (using substring matches) will try to display information where the full names include your shortened versions

For example, if your shortlist of UK medical schools were to include Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Oxford, Barts, and Newcastle then you could set the filter to the abbreviations Man Car Birm Ox Bart New.

As illustrated above, the interactive table automatically expands the abbreviations you specify and then displays data for any matching UK medical schools.

Using global preference settings to filter results across MedSchoolGenie website

Beyond adjusting filters on various interactive tables, you can also set global preference settings — and these provide more far-ranging ways to specify your interests.

For example, many pages across our website can focus on just one set of curriculum information once you set this curriculum track global setting:

As illustrated in this screenshot, you can set your curriculum global filter in one place — then have many web pages across our website automatically hide irrelevant information about other curriculum tracks.

For more details, see our FAQs on setting A Level, Advanced Higher, or International Baccalaureate global filters.

Likewise, many pages across our website can display just the competition information you are looking for once you set this competition scope global setting:

As illustrated in this screenshot, you can set your competition scope global filter in one place — then have many web pages across our website automatically hide irrelevant competition data.
