Aston University, based in the centre of Birmingham, is home to another new medical school.  With their first medical students starting in 2018, this initial cohort will graduate in 2023. Aston's medical programme is five years, emphasising compassionate patient care and working in multi-disciplinary teams. Medical students learn through lectures, group work, workshops, independent study, with increasing amounts of patient contact as the course progresses.

The Universities of Brighton and Sussex came together in 2002 to create a five-year medical programme at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). Delivering an integrated curriculum, BSMS prides itself on its state of the art facilities, giving students the opportunity for full cadaveric dissection, and innovative approach to teaching, such as through the CAPSULE app. Students provide continuous feedback to course leaders, showing the medical school’s commitment to student satisfaction.

The University of Buckingham Medical School offers a unique approach to medical education with their 4.5 year MBChB degree. The course took in its first cohort of medical students in 2015, receiving accreditation from the GMC in 2019. Buckingham Medical School is a not-for-profit educational charity, meaning that students cannot receive government loans and must therefore self finance the £37,500 annual tuition fee. 

Cardiff University has the only medical school in Wales, drawing on a patient population of 3 million individuals. The course is highly patient-oriented, with clinical placements from first year onwards. As the course progresses, emphasis on clinical skills increases, giving students clinical responsibility in primary and secondary care throughout Wales. A key element of teaching at Cardiff is its non-modular spiral curriculum (C21), in which students revisit core themes in more detail in each year of the course.

Edge Hill University is one of the newest medical schools in the UK, taking in its first cohort of medical students in 2020. Its course is still in the process of becoming GMC approved, so Edge Hill's programme is being supported by the University of Liverpool until full approval. Offering a five-year, integrated, course, Edge Hill sets itself apart with extensive early clinical attachments. Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions. 

Exeter’s five-year medical degree is delivered in partnership with NHS in Devon and Cornwall to provide a unique learning experience in healthcare, emphasising the importance of multi-professional patient care in clinical practice. With clinical placements throughout the curriculum, Exeter showcases the importance of both community and hospital healthcare. 

The Universities of Hull and York came together in 2003 to create an integrated five year medical programme at Hull York Medical School (HYMS), with PBL at the heart of all teaching. With an innovative curriculum aimed at an ever-changing NHS, Hull York Medical School equips students with a strong foundation in clinical science through its integrated programme.  Students have the option to intercalate after the second year or after the third year. 

King’s College London offers an integrated five-year medical degree, in partnership with famous institutions such as Guy’s, St Thomas’s, and King’s College Hospitals. The course boasts a wide breadth, teaching students in non-core subjects such as humanities and social sciences. Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, cadaveric dissection, and clinical placements. The curriculum is divided into three stages.

Lincoln Medical School took on its first cohort of students in 2019, making it one of the newest courses in the UK. The five-year, integrated programme is delivered in collaboration with the University of Nottingham, with full accreditation from the GMC. The course is predominantly taught at the University of Lincoln's Brayford Pool campus, delivering new medical school buildings in 2021 equipped with lecture theatres, laboratories, simulation facilities, and a prosection anatomy suite. 

The University of East Anglia (UEA) at Norwich opened its doors to medical students in 2002, aiming to prepare graduates for complex needs of patients in the 21st century. Embracing early clinical contact, students at UEA have patient contact from their first month on the course. Curriculum highlights include cadaveric dissection, small group teaching, and state-of-the-art clinical skills facilities at the Bob Champion Research and Education Building. 

Oxford’s traditional medical programme has an international reputation, almost always ranked among the top ten courses globally. The course is delivered over six years, with the first three years of the course culminating in a BA degree. Prospective students should note that applications are made to individual colleges, so attention should be paid to specific entry requirements and places available to maximise chances of success. Alternatively, open applications can be made in which no college is specified. 

The only medical school in Northern Ireland, Queen's Belfast offers an integrated five-year curriculum. Case-based learning is used to integrate theory with clinical practice, complemented by very early patient contact. Course highlights include full-body cadaveric dissection, student selected components, and a world-class interprofessional simulation centre. Queen’s is the only medical school in Northern Ireland and students are welcomed in all of the hospitals within the region and in over 150 general practices.

St George's offers a five-year integrated MBBS degree, emphasising the patient-centred approach to Medicine and the importance of interprofessional care. Teaching is delivered through lectures, tutorials, seminars, PBL, and clinical placements, with anatomy taught through dissection and prosection. Case-based learning helps students integrate theory with real clinical scenarios. St George's is closely affiliated to St George's Hospital, located in Tooting (SouthWest London).
