BMAT is acronym for the BioMedical Admissions Test, currently required by 21% (8/39) of UK medical schools. 

As explained by its developer Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing, the BMAT test evaluates "your ability to apply scientific and mathematical knowledge, as well as problem solving, critical thinking and written communication skills that are essential to university-level study."
